Lothian Broadband Networks Limited (LBNL) today (Thursday, 19 May 2022) announced they are celebrating having exceeded 2000 active customers for the first time across their fibre and fixed wireless broadband networks in Scotland.

This milestone comes as a result of LBNL completing the build of their full fibre XGS-PON networks across Longniddry, Pencaitland and Gifford. Users in these areas can now connect their homes and businesses to the best digital infrastructure available in the market.

Currently, LBNL’s network provides upload and download speeds of 100, 300 and 900 Mbps but has the capability to provide synchronistic speeds up to 10 Gbps.

LBG is focused on future-proofing connectivity in Scotland and closing the digital divide across rural and semi-rural towns throughout Scotland. LBG is committed to building the best digital infrastructure ensuring these communities are not left behind.

Commenting on the latest milestone, Lothian Broadband Networks Limited CEO, Gavin Rodgers said;

“Lothian Broadband Networks Limited is moving from strength to strength; reaching the milestone of 2,000 customers is an excellent illustration of this progress.

“LBNL’s record customer number can be attributed to meeting the needs for not only faster but also more reliable digital infrastructure within rural and semi-rural communities. More and more homes and businesses in towns and villages across Scotland are becoming aware of the value of ultrafast fibre broadband at a time when it is becoming more and more of a necessity for multiple users in a household or business to be able to have access to a quality internet connection concurrently.”
